Get to Know the Collage Staff: Jenny Schneckloth
Every so often we like to introduce you to one of our Collage staff members or volunteers to help you get to know them a little bit. During these Q&A blogs, we’ll ask them about their role at Collage, their families and we’ll try to give you an inside scoop into their lives to discover their favorite movies, most embarrassing moments or other fun things you’ll find interesting. This week we want to introduce you to Jenny Schneckloth, one of our SHARE presenters.
What is your favorite thing about working/volunteering at Collage?
Getting to talk to teens and help them see their true value
Would you share a little about your education and professional background?
I have the best job in the world! I get to work with kids full-time and pour into their families as well. I do a lot of public speaking and counseling.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Love to travel – especially to Disney World, spend time with family, and read
You mentioned your family, what is something unique about your family?
I’m the oldest of 6 children. My youngest brother was born my senior year of high school and now we actually work together.
Okay, let’s get to some of the good stuff. What is one thing that you are just absolutely no good at doing?
running – bleh / I love walking
What’s one of the scariest things you’ve ever done?
Starting a brand new career at the age of 35
What is your favorite TV show or Movie?
Pretty much anything on the Hallmark channel
Be honest, what song or band is your guilty pleasure?
Tom Jones – Help Yourself / Listen to it – it’s hilarious
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I like to say that I was born to be an aunt. I love each of my nieces and nephews.
What are some things that make you really happy?
Family, home, traveling
Do you have a most embarrassing moment you would share with our readers?
I laugh very easily and it’s really hard to embarrass me because I have no problem laughing at myself. I may laugh at myself more than others 😉
Have you thought of going into politics? That was a pretty good non-answer. Would you say you an introvert or an extrovert?
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life without getting sick of it, what would it be?
Something with cheese!
We should have known after the Hallmark Channel answer, you liked cheese. If you could hop on a plane today and fly anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Africa – I would love to visit a friend that lives in Mozambique and go on a safari
What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
That every person deserves dignity and respect, no matter how different we may be
That is great advice and something we believe in strongly here at Collage. One final question. What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I was very shy and reserved growing up and now I speak publicly for a living
Jenny, thanks so much for spending some time with our readers and letting them get to know you a little bit. If Jenny shared something you liked, we’d love for you to let her know in the comments and we may even be able to get her back if you have any other questions.
