Meet Dr. Brent Adamson, Collage’s New Medical Director
This week we’re sharing an interview with Dr. Brent Adamson, Collage’s new Medical Director. Dr. Adamson is a long-standing member of the Kearney Medical community. He will be providing Collage clients with professional service, including verification and sign off on all of our medical procedures. Here’s a little bit about him and his new role in helping women in Central Nebraska facing unexpected pregnancies.
Thanks Dr. Adamson for letting our community get to know you a little better. Can you share a bit about your educational & professional background?
I graduated as an M.D. from the University of California; Irvine, CA and then went on to complete my Orthopedic Residency from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI.
Tell us about your family.
I’m married to Mary and we have four children: Micah 27, Peter 23, Anna 19, and Josiah 17.
What attracted you to Collage and your new role there?
I truly see it as an opportunity to serve women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. I hope to help them get the information they need and to experience love through the care and concern of the Collage staff.
What areas are you passionate about outside of the medical field?
I enjoy caring for my family and serving their needs. I’m also sharing vicariously in the experience of medical school with our two oldest sons.
What do you love most about living in central Nebraska and/or being involved in the community of Kearney?
I enjoy the wide, open spaces, visiting with patients and hearing their stories of farming life and their rural upbringing.
Do you have a favorite quote or life verse?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (ESV)
That is truly a beautiful verse! If you could hop on a plane in 2 hours to go anywhere in the world where would you go?
To Nome, Alaska, to visit my High School geometry teacher, Mrs. Whitmore.
Wow! That would be an adventure Dr. Adamson. We don’t know many people who would pick visiting a high school teacher as their first choice. That says a lot about who you are.
What was the last book you read?
“A Bend In the Road” by David Jeremiah
Ok last question…If you could eat one food for the rest of your life and not get sick of it, what would it be?
McDonald’s Big Macs and chocolate malts!
Well we can’t argue with that! Thanks again for taking the time to let our central Nebraska community get to know you.
